actually i bought it for a 2000 suzuki vitara. made a couple mods to the brackets, drilled a few hole and its on there. fits as well as can be expected because its for a cherokee. im happy with the product i purchased, nicely cut pieces, and brackets. will buy again.
Everything was as described. I have zero issues. Welding and installation were easy and self explanatory. One recommendation I would suggest is for the recovery mount. Consider making that piece longer so that we could notch out for it and weld it to the mounting bracket that mounts to the vehicle. That would be SO much stronger than how it is now. But I want to make sure that everyone understands that I do recommend this bumper if you can weld. Also the bumper looks SWEET! Makes the rig look tough.
This bumper went together well. All parts fit as they should. I used it on another vehicle and modified the brackets heavily, narrowed the center, added to the bottom, and trimmed the tips.
Absolutely amazing quality. Easy to assemble if you are a good welder this is definitely the kit for you.
Very good bumper for the price. For what I intend to use the jeep for. Welded up nice.
Took off a winch bumper in favor of this one. It came pre-bent(except for the rounded wings), and the hole for the hitch was pre-cut completely. There was no filler plate for the hitch hole, keep that in mind if you don’t want the hitch, which is also sold separately. I was concerned about bending the rounded wings, but with a rubber mallet and a large adjustable wrench it was pretty easy to tac them as I bent around to make them look good.
Over all this thing went together very easily, my only complaint would be that the d ring loops just weld to the bumper face, I’d rather they go through it and weld along the frame mounts too. It looks so much better than the winch bumper that I took off.
I looked at a lot of bumpers but liked the way this one did not stick out too far, along with a nice clean sleek look with good approach angles, along with a receiver for a removable winch. Was super easy to weld together very well done pre bends and cuts made it easy. I am very happy with how it turned out really improved the look and capability of my Jeep.
Bumper looks great now, but when I got it, the pre-bent sections were not fully bent so it was difficult to line up and tack up before welding bumper entirely. Also ordered a hoop from Barnes 4wd to weld on and it looks great.
The DIY Mojave bumper that I ordered is great quality, I has nice clean cuts, everything fits together nicely for easy fabrication, but my experience with Dirtbound Offroad has been less than stellar. I ordered the DIY bumper, and the receiver tube, and when the package came I was missing both ½” shackle mounts, and half of the hardware to mount the bumper to the unibody of my XJ. Plus, it took over 6 weeks to get my order. I can understand that kind of a backlog on finish welding and paint etc.. but to plasma cut, wire wheel and bend some 3/16 material, it should not take that long – and if it does, you better have the entire order fulfilled. Its just a disorganized process, and no attempt to keep the customer informed of what’s actually going on, other than a statement of the website that says “please be understanding, we only have 6 employees.” If you have that much of a workload hire some new employees and get your order fulfilled. Like I said, I really wanted to have a good experience with the company, I really like the Mojave bumper, that it doesn’t stick 4 feet out in front of the jeep like a lot of other DIY bumpers from other companies, but I would hesitate to order anything else from Dirtbound unless they streamline their process a lot. I sent an email to the address on my packing slip, explaining that I was missing parts but I was really impressed, I understand with supply chain blah blah blah.. but Its been almost a week and I still haven't heard anything back.
